In Your Honor
Directed by: Mauro Romero
Documentary for the rock band, "In Your Honor". Argentina. 2021.
In Your Honor is not a band. It is not a song. Is not a documentary film either. IYH is an ambitious dream that brings together all of the above and shows in a raw manner how intense the symbiosis between a group of friends
and their favorite band can be.
The concept was born when Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters’ frontman) while performing in Argentina in March 2018, surprised by the unrestrained and constant display of affection from the audience said, "Next time, you can form a band and I'll come to see you".
This line, which in most cases could be interpreted symbolically as a gesture of gratitude, did not go unnoticed by one of the people present at the concert that night, Juan Pablo Sanzi, who immediately, after hearing the words of his idol, realized that he had to do something about it. And he did.
He had the idea of developing a comprehensive project that went beyond the tiresome concept of a “tribute band”. This meant the formation of a musical ensemble whose sole purpose was to compose a song.
IYH also offers the viewer, through the production of an exclusive documentary, a different look at a particular trait of the Argentine idiosyncrasy, which is intertwined with the passion that people have for soccer and how that behavior carried over to rock concerts.
